| Kathy walks into a clothing store carrying a bag, and she heads over to a sales clerk at the cash register. |
| S: Sales clerk K: Kathy |
| S: | Good morning! How can I help you today? |
| K: | I bought these shirts a few days ago for my husband, and I'd like to return them. |
| S: | Sure. May I ask what the problem might be? |
| K: | They're too small for him, especially the collars. |
| S: | I see. Do you happen to have your receipt with you? |
| K: | I sure do. (She hands over the receipt.) |
| S: | Thank you. Oh, I see these shirts were on sale. |
| K: | That's right. There was a special "buy one, get one free" deal last week. |
| S: | I'm sorry, but it's our store's policy not to give refunds on items with reduced prices. |
| K: | I understand. I don't want my money back, though. I'd just like these shirts in a larger size. |
| S: | Unfortunately, we no longer have any larger sizes in stock. All of the remaining shirts like these come in "small." Would you like to look around for other items? |
| K: | Could you give me a store credit instead? I'll come back next week with my husband. This way, he can try the clothes on himself and make sure they fit! |
