“The project has been put on ice until further notice.”
On ice?
1. The project has been put on ice until further notice.
"Put on ice"
● The deal was put on ice for three months.
有時會搭配be動詞,用"be on ice":
● Both projects are on ice until the question of funding is resolved.
2. It cut no ice with me.
這個片語更常用於否定表達,"cut no ice with someone"。
● I've heard her excuses and they cut no ice with me.
● Your apologies will cut no ice with them.
3. This is the icing on the cake.
● Not only was I offered a higher salary, but the additional bonus I got was the icing on the cake.
● I love my job and getting public recognition is merely the icing on the cake.
